Job Purpose
The Renewable Energy Joiner will support the installation, construction, and finishing works associated with renewable energy systems across residential and commercial projects. The role involves high‑quality carpentry and joinery works that integrate renewable technologies while meeting structural, environmental, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Carry out first- and second-fix joinery works related to renewable energy installations (e.g. solar panel frameworks, heat pump housings, plant room structures, battery storage enclosures).
· Construct and install timber structures, frames, rooftops, and bespoke fittings to support renewable systems.
· Modify existing buildings to accommodate renewable solutions while maintaining structural integrity and aesthetics.
· Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and method statements.
· Work closely with electricians, plumbers, roofers, and renewable engineers to ensure coordinated installation.
· Ensure all work complies with building regulations, health & safety standards, and environmental best practice.
· Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
· Carry out snagging, finishing, and remedial works as required.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and professional working environment on site.
Essential
· Proven experience as a joiner or carpenter (site‑based experience preferred).
· NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery (or equivalent).
· Ability to work accurately from drawings and plans.
· Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
· Good awareness of health & safety on construction sites.
· Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
· Experience working within the renewable energy or low‑carbon construction sector.
· CSCS card (or working towards).
· Experience with roofing structures or external timber works.
· Knowledge of sustainability‑focused building methods and materials.
