Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7:30 am – 3:36 pm plus standby and overtime opportunities, increasing earnings by a potential £8,000 - £10,000 per annum upon completing essential company training.

Salary
Up to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus company van, tools, and PPE provided.

About the Role
We are recruiting Mechanical and Electrical Technicians to join our Water Production team at Chingford or Coppermills Water Treatment Works. You will use your mechanical and electrical knowledge and experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment safely, efficiently, and effectively with minimum supervision. Your work ensures that all sites remain operational for the benefit of our customers.

Your responsibilities will include investigating plant failures and carrying out repairs promptly to avoid process interruptions, including diagnosing complex faults during incidents. You will perform planned maintenance on electrical equipment following company procedures to minimise breakdowns. You will provide technical advice to the broader team, stay updated with technical knowledge, and support or train technical trainees if required.

You will work with technical equipment such as various pumps and associated control gear, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems including variable speed drives (VSDs), automatic valves and penstocks, flow, level and pressure measurement devices, programmable logic controllers, chemical handling, and dosing equipment.

Company van, PPE, and all tools are provided.

Requirements

Experience
You should be a time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical and electrical systems or hold an NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering.

- Hold a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications
Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ/C&G Level 3 in mechanical or electrical engineering is required.
