38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am – 3:36 pm plus standby and overtime opportunities, increasing earnings by a potential £8,000 - £10,000 per annum upon completing essential company training

About the Role
We are recruiting Mechanical and Electrical Technicians to join our Water Production team at Chingford or Coppermills Water Treatment Works. You will use your mechanical and electrical knowledge and experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment in a safe, efficient, timely, and effective manner with minimum supervision. Your work ensures all sites remain operational for the benefit of our customers.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact by actively helping to reduce pollution from our sites.
Key responsibilities include investigating plant failures and carrying out repairs quickly and efficiently to avoid process interruptions, including diagnosing complex faults during incidents; performing planned maintenance on electrical equipment in compliance with company procedures to minimise breakdowns; providing technical advice and training to the broader team; and working with technical equipment such as pumps, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems including VSDs, automatic valves and penstocks, flow, level and pressure measurement devices, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives, chemical handling, and dosing equipment.
Company van, PPE, and all tools are provided.
Experience
You should be a time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical and electrical systems or hold an NVQ or C&G Level 3 qualification in mechanical/electrical engineering.
