Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm plus standby rota payments. Overtime opportunities available, potentially increasing earnings by £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.
Salary
Up to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus company van, tools, and PPE provided.
About the Role
As a Mechanical & Electrical Technician, you will use your mechanical and electrical knowledge and experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment. You will work safely, efficiently, and effectively with minimum supervision to ensure all sites remain operational for the benefit of our customers. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact by actively helping to reduce pollution from our sites.
Your responsibilities will include ensuring health, safety, and well-being for yourself and others by complying with Health and Safety regulations and Thames Water guidelines; undertaking reactive and planned maintenance; responding to alarms and fault finding; installing new plant and equipment in line with current standards and regulations; recording work and asset information to improve business performance; identifying future risks and recommending changes; providing specialist technical advice; coaching and developing staff including apprentices; and delivering excellent customer service to both internal and external customers in a professional and respectful manner.
All PPE, tools, and a company van will be provided when on duty and on call.
Experience
- Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical and electrical systems or holding NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering.
- Proven problem solver, able to identify potential issues and implement solutions or escalate as necessary.
- Experience providing technical expertise to internal and external staff and contractors.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and under own initiative, adhering to design and standards.
- Knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety issues relevant to the industry.

Qualifications
