Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm plus standby rota payments. Overtime opportunities can increase earning potential by up to £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.
Salary
Up to £26,320 per annum depending on skills and experience, plus company van, tools, and PPE provided.
About the Role
We are recruiting Mechanical & Electrical Technicians to join our teams across London and the Thames Valley. In this role, you will use your mechanical and electrical knowledge and experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment safely, efficiently, and effectively with minimum supervision. Your work ensures all sites remain operational for the benefit of our customers.

Your key responsibilities will include:
- Prioritising health, safety, and well-being of yourself, colleagues, contractors, and visitors by complying with Health and Safety regulations and Thames Water’s guidelines.
- Undertaking reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms, fault finding, fixing issues or escalating as necessary.
- Performing planned maintenance of plant and equipment daily and installing new plant and equipment in line with current standards and regulations.
- Recording work and asset information to improve business performance, identifying future risks, and recommending changes.
- Providing specialist technical advice with up-to-date knowledge, coaching, training, and developing staff including apprentices.
- Delivering excellent customer experience by interacting professionally, efficiently, respectfully, and politely with internal and external customers.
Experience
- Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical/electrical systems or holding NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering.
- Proven problem solver able to identify issues and implement solutions or escalate when required.
- Experience providing technical expertise to internal and external staff and contractors.

Qualifications
- NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Time-served apprenticeship in mechanical/electrical engineering.
