Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7:30 am - 3:36 pm. Standby rota payments and overtime opportunities available, with potential to increase earnings by £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.

Salary
Up to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus company van, tools, and PPE provided.

About the Role
We are recruiting a Mechanical & Electrical Technician to join our Waste Operations team at Crossness STW. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team responsible for scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with company procedures to minimise plant breakdown.
This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference by performing front-line activities including operation, testing, routine checks, maintenance, and problem-solving to deliver services on time, within budget, and to quality standards. You will carry out planned and preventive maintenance to support plant operation.
Key responsibilities include ensuring health and safety compliance, undertaking reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms and fault finding, installing new plant and equipment in line with standards and regulations, recording work and asset information to improve business performance, providing specialist technical advice, coaching and training staff including apprentices, and delivering excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Experience
- Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical and electrical systems or holding NVQ or C&G Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering.
- Proven ability to undertake reactive and planned maintenance, fault finding, and problem solving.
- Experience providing technical expertise and coaching to staff and contractors.

Qualifications
- Electrical apprenticeship, ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ, or C&G Level 3 in Electrical Engineering.
- Mechanical NVQ Level 2 or 3 upskill is essential.
- All necessary PPE, tools, fuel card, and provisional use of a company van will be provided.
