Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm, plus Standby rota payments and Overtime opportunities which can increase earning potential by up to £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.
Salary
Up to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus company van, tools, and PPE provided.
About the Role
We are recruiting Mechanical & Electrical Technicians to join our teams across London and the Thames Valley. In this role, you will use your mechanical and electrical knowledge and experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment safely, efficiently, and effectively with minimum supervision. Your work ensures that all sites remain operational for the benefit of our customers.

Key responsibilities include:
- Prioritising health, safety, and well-being by complying with Health and Safety at Work regulations and Thames Water’s guidelines.
- Undertaking reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms, fault finding, fixing issues or escalating as needed.
- Performing daily planned maintenance and installing new plant and equipment in line with current standards and regulations.
- Recording work and asset information to improve business performance, identifying future risks, and recommending changes.
- Providing specialist technical advice, coaching, training, and developing staff, including apprentices.
- Delivering excellent customer service by interacting professionally and respectfully with internal and external customers.
Experience
- Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical and electrical systems, or holding NVQ or C&G Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering.
- Proven problem solver able to identify issues and implement solutions or escalate when necessary.
- Excellent communicator providing technical expertise to internal and external staff and contractors.
- Resilient and adaptable to work pressures and a constantly changing environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, following design and standards.
- Knowledge and awareness of relevant Health and Safety issues in the industry.
- Team player able to work across different teams, showing respect, providing feedback, and supporting others’ development.
- Full UK driving licence.
