Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm, plus standby rota payments and overtime opportunities which can increase earning potential by up to £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.

Salary
Up to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus company van, tools, and PPE provided.

About the Role
As a Mechanical & Electrical Technician, you will use your mechanical and electrical knowledge and experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment. You will work safely, efficiently, and effectively with minimum supervision to ensure all sites remain operational for the benefit of customers. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact by actively helping to reduce pollution from our sites.

Your key responsibilities will include:
- Prioritising health, safety, and well-being by complying with Health and Safety at Work regulations and Thames Water’s guidelines.
- Undertaking reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms, fault finding, fixing issues or escalating as necessary.
- Performing planned maintenance of plant and equipment daily and installing new plant and equipment in line with current standards and regulations.
- Recording work and asset information to improve business performance, identifying future risks, and recommending changes.
- Providing specialist technical advice and up-to-date technical knowledge, coaching, training, and developing staff including apprentices.
- Delivering excellent customer experience by interacting professionally, efficiently, respectfully, and politely with internal and external customers.

Requirements

Experience
- Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical and electrical systems or holding NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering.
- Proven problem solver, able to identify potential issues and implement solutions or escalate when necessary.
- Experience providing technical expertise to internal and external staff and contractors.

- Knowledge and awareness of relevant Health and Safety issues.

- Full UK driving licence.

Qualifications
- NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Time-served apprenticeship in mechanical/electrical systems.
