Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7:30 am – 3:36 pm. Standby and overtime opportunities available to increase earnings.

Salary
Up to £45,000 per annum depending on skills and experience. Additional standby rota payments and overtime can increase earnings by £8,000 - £10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.

About the Role
We are recruiting a Mechanical & Electrical Technician to join our Clean Water Division. You will use your mechanical and electrical expertise to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment safely, efficiently, and with minimal supervision. Your work will ensure our sites remain operational, helping to reduce pollution and positively impact the environment.
- Carry out scheduled planned maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment following company procedures to minimise plant breakdowns.
- Investigate plant failures and perform repairs quickly and efficiently, including diagnosing complex faults during incidents.
- Provide technical advice, maintain up-to-date technical knowledge, and support or train technical trainees as required.
- Work on equipment such as pumps, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems (VSDs), automatic valves, penstocks, flow, level and pressure measurement devices, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives, and chemical handling and dosing equipment.
- Participate in a standby rota following relevant training.
All PPE and tools are provided.

Requirements

Experience
- Time-served electrical apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems in a multi-skilled capacity.
- Ideally upskilled with a mechanical qualification (NVQ2/3) to inspect, maintain, diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical and electrical plant equipment.
- Candidates with mechanical or electrical experience only will be considered for development to dual-skilled status.
- Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are essential.
- Physical fitness required to work in confined spaces after completion of appropriate training.
- Valid driving licence is essential; all necessary equipment including vehicle and tools are provided.

Qualifications
- Electrical apprenticeship or equivalent qualification such as ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ, or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering.
- Mechanical NVQ2/3 qualification or willingness to upskill mechanically is crucial.
