Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7:30 am - 3:36 pm. Standby rota payments and overtime opportunities available, with potential to increase earnings by £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.

Salary
Up to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus company van, tools, and PPE provided.

About the Role
We are recruiting a Mechanical & Electrical Technician to join our Waste Operations team at Crossness STW. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team, responsible for scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with company procedures to minimise plant breakdown. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference by performing front-line activities including operation, testing, routine checks, maintenance, and problem-solving to deliver services on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Your duties will include planned and preventive maintenance to support plant operation, responding to alarms, fault finding, installing new plant and equipment in line with current standards and regulations, and recording work and asset information to improve business performance. You will also provide specialist technical advice, coach and train staff including apprentices, and contribute positively to customer satisfaction by interacting professionally with internal and external customers. Health and safety is a top priority, and you will be expected to comply with all relevant regulations and guidelines.

Experience
- Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical and electrical systems or holding NVQ or C&G Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering.
- Experience in reactive and planned maintenance, fault finding, and installation of plant and equipment.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications
- Electrical apprenticeship, ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ, or C&G Level 3 in Electrical Engineering.
- Mechanical NVQ Level 2/3 upskill is crucial.
- All necessary PPE, tools, fuel card, and provisional use of a company van will be provided.
