Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm plus standby rota payments and overtime opportunities which can increase earning potential by up to £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.
Salary
Up to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus company van, tools, and PPE provided.
About the Role
We are recruiting a Mechanical & Electrical Technician to join our Clean Water Division. In this role, you will use your mechanical and electrical knowledge and experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment safely, efficiently, and effectively with minimum supervision. Your work ensures all sites remain operational for the benefit of our customers and helps reduce pollution, positively impacting Thames Water's environmental footprint.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Prioritising health, safety, and wellbeing by complying with Health and Safety regulations and Thames Water guidelines.
- Undertaking reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms, fault finding, fixing issues or escalating as needed.
- Installing new plant and equipment in line with current standards and regulations.
- Recording work and asset information to improve business performance and identifying future risks.
- Providing specialist technical advice, coaching, training, and developing staff including apprentices.
- Delivering excellent customer service by interacting professionally and respectfully with internal and external customers.
All PPE, tools, and a company van will be provided when on duty and on call.
Experience
- Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical and electrical systems or holding NVQ or C&G Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering.
- Proven problem solver able to identify and resolve issues or escalate appropriately.
- Experience providing technical expertise to internal and external staff and contractors.

Qualifications
