Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm plus standby rota payments and overtime opportunities which can increase earning potential by up to £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.

Salary
Up to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus company van, tools, and PPE provided.

About the Role
As a Mechanical & Electrical Technician within Thames Water's Clean Water Division, you will use your mechanical and electrical expertise to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment. You will work safely, efficiently, and effectively with minimum supervision to ensure all sites remain operational for the benefit of our customers. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact by actively helping to reduce pollution from our sites.

Your key responsibilities will include ensuring health, safety, and wellbeing for yourself and others by complying with Health and Safety regulations and Thames Water guidelines; undertaking reactive and planned maintenance; responding to alarms and fault finding; installing new plant and equipment in line with current standards and regulations; recording work and asset information to improve business performance; identifying and escalating potential risks; providing specialist technical advice; coaching and developing staff including apprentices; and delivering excellent customer service to both internal and external customers in a professional and respectful manner.

Requirements

Experience
Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical and electrical systems or holding NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering.

- Excellent communicator, providing technical expertise to internal and external staff and contractors.
- Resilient and adaptable to work pressures and a constantly changing environment.
- Able to work with minimum supervision, using own initiative to meet design and standards.
- Knowledge and awareness of relevant Health and Safety issues.
- Team player who respects others, provides helpful feedback, and supports the development of colleagues.
- Full UK driving licence.

Qualifications
NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering or equivalent qualifications and relevant apprenticeship experience.
