Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7:30 am - 3:36 pm. Standby rota payments and overtime opportunities available, with potential to increase earnings by £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.
Salary
Up to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus company van, tools, and PPE provided.
About the Role
We are recruiting a Mechanical & Electrical Technician to join our Waste Operations team at Crossness STW. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment in line with company procedures to minimise plant breakdown. This role involves operation, testing, routine checks, maintenance, and problem-solving to ensure services are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Responsibilities include planned and preventive maintenance, installation of new plant and equipment, fault finding, and responding to alarms. You will also record work and asset information to improve business performance, identify risks, and recommend solutions. Providing specialist technical advice, coaching, training, and development of staff including apprenticeships will be part of your role. Delivering excellent customer service and maintaining professional interactions with internal and external customers is essential.
Experience
Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical and electrical systems or holding NVQ or C&G Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering. Experience in both reactive and planned maintenance, fault finding, and installation of plant and equipment is essential.

Qualifications
Electrical apprenticeship, ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ, or C&G Level 3 in Electrical Engineering with mechanical NVQ2/3 upskill is crucial.
