About the Role
We are recruiting a Mechanical & Electrical Technician to join our Home Counties Treatment team. This regional role involves travel across multiple treatment sites within the Mole & Wey Area. You will use your mechanical and electrical expertise to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment safely, efficiently, and with minimal supervision. Your work will ensure all sites remain operational, supporting Thames Water’s commitment to reducing environmental impact and pollution.

Key responsibilities include supporting site teams with scheduled planned maintenance, investigating and repairing plant failures promptly to avoid process interruptions, and providing technical advice and training to trainees if required. Equipment you will work on includes pumps, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems such as VSDs, automatic valves, penstocks, flow, level and pressure measurement devices, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives, chemical handling, and dosing equipment.

You will participate in a standby rota following relevant training and liaise with technical coordinators, contractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders across wastewater treatment. PPE, tools, a company van, and a fuel card are provided to support your role.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to Thames Water’s environmental impact while developing your career in a supportive and dynamic environment.
