Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7:30 am – 3:36 pm plus standby and overtime opportunities, potentially increasing earnings by £8,000 - £10,000.

Salary
Up to £39,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus company van, tools, and PPE provided.

About the Role
We have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance team at Hampton Water Treatment Works. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure all equipment at the waste treatment works operates safely and efficiently through proactive and reactive maintenance methods. You will investigate plant failures, diagnose complex faults, and perform repairs promptly to avoid process interruptions. You will provide technical advice, training, and support to technical trainees as required.
Equipment you will work on includes motors, gearboxes, screw and chain conveyors, centrifuges, various pumps, associated control gear, 3-phase motors, starters, automatic valves, flow, level and pressure measurement devices, programmable chemical handling, and dosing equipment.
You will also complete statutory checks and always work safely in compliance with Health and Safety guidance and procedures.
All PPE and tools are provided.

Requirements

Experience
Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical/electrical systems or holding NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering.

- Knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety issues relevant to the industry.
- Team player who works well with different teams, showing respect, providing helpful feedback, and supporting others' development.
- IT literate.
- Full UK driving licence.

Qualifications
NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering or equivalent qualifications. Time-served apprenticeship in relevant discipline.
