About the Role
As a Mechanical Technician at Veolia, you will take ownership of the mechanical maintenance of the Syngenta CHP Plant in Huddersfield, delivering a proactive and effective maintenance service to exceed efficiency and cost targets. You will manage daily plant maintenance within a team providing 24/7 cover, including call-out duties across West and South Yorkshire sites. Your responsibilities include managing contractors and maintaining compliance records, ensuring high standards of housekeeping and aesthetic appearance in line with contract KPIs and company values. You will carry out mechanical maintenance, fault finding, repair, decommissioning, and recommissioning on a wide range of plant equipment including high and low pressure boilers and auxiliary systems. Working with minimal supervision, you will maintain a flexible, customer-focused approach while following quality processes and proactively identifying areas for improvement. Additionally, you will share your knowledge by training the Veolia site team to ensure coverage during your absence.

Experience
Previous experience with steam boilers and hot water systems is essential.
Proven ability to fault find and problem solve effectively.
Experience managing contractors and maintaining compliance records.

Ability to complete forms accurately and competently (engineers’ worksheets, timesheets, PPM sheets, expenses forms).

Qualifications
Qualified to HNC or ONC level in a craft, trade, or engineering discipline.
Full UK driving licence required.
