About the Role
Join Veolia and contribute to helping the world take better care of its resources. As a Meter Reader, you will conduct daily meter downloads (FEGP and PCA), learn designated meter reading routes, and use specialised software to program and download data from meters, ensuring accurate information is sent to end users. You will record manual readings for AMR meters and support the transition from paper-based to electronic meter readings across the site. Your role includes investigating customer complaints related to meter readings, verifying accuracy against billing, and reporting findings to your line manager. You will also conduct site-based utility assessments, gather usage data, and maintain daily communication with your manager regarding workload and challenges. Additionally, you will provide advice, recommendations, and training support to junior meter readers and other team members as needed. Maintaining up-to-date compliance training, including Airside Pass, Driving, Heathrow Electrical Safety, and UKPNS HV substation entry, is essential. You will ensure all work complies with health and safety policies and maintain professional conduct when interacting with airport passengers and clients.

Experience
Experience in utility meter reading is required.
Knowledge of utility infrastructure and systems, especially electricity, is essential.
Experience with Elster Smartset / PMU software is required.

About You
Comfortable using IT equipment and applications, particularly Microsoft Office and Google.
Full driving licence is essential.
Ability to maintain professional conduct and work safely in a busy airport environment.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and customers.

Qualifications
UKPNS HV substation entry awareness is desirable.
Electrical Safety Rules Level 1 qualification is desirable.
Commitment to maintaining up-to-date compliance training including Airside Pass, Driving, and Heathrow Electrical Safety.
