About the Role
We are seeking a Metering Analyst to join Thames Water permanently. This is an exciting and pivotal role focused on upholding the regulatory aspects of our critical and complex underground asset estate. You will work closely with multiple business areas and stakeholders, gaining a wider understanding of regulatory requirements within the water industry.
Your responsibilities will include the day-to-day management of regulatory assets to provide reliable, regulated, and accurate meter data, which is fundamental to leakage recovery and detection. You will identify faulty meters and raise work orders for field attendance through daily checks using Excel, PI, SCADA, or meter verification programme results. Collaborating with various teams, you will identify opportunities to improve meter accuracy and serviceability.
You will coordinate, track, and report progress of the regulatory meter verification programme (over 1200 assets) managed by third-party contractors, along with other regulatory logging programmes. Keeping asset information up to date for annual OFWAT audits is essential. You will liaise with System Optimisation, Leakage Optimisation, and Production Teams to raise APS risks, supporting funding for meter replacements.
Additional duties include working with planning and scheduling teams for ICA technicians to assist with process meter verifications and repairs, reacting to site issues in the verification plan, finding solutions or escalating as needed to reduce aborts. You will track progress and update reports and Power BI dashboards weekly for zonal meters, critical pressure points, and regulatory verifications. Presenting workflow updates on weekly performance calls to senior management and compiling monthly performance reports across all workstreams will also be part of your role.
Experience
Proven advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially MS Excel formulas, lookups, and managing large databases. Experience in identifying trends in data to drive performance improvements and process mapping. Strong coordination skills with the ability to export data across multiple systems. Ability to quickly identify and resolve problems.
About you
Analytical and logical mindset with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work well within a team and take ownership of tasks independently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with great attention to detail. Comfortable working across multiple divisions and developing strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
Qualifications
No specific qualifications are stated as mandatory; however, relevant experience and skills in data analysis, coordination, and communication are essential for success in this role.
