About the Role
Join Stantec's Water division as a Principal Civil Engineer and contribute to some of the largest and most iconic water projects across the South region and the UK. You will lead civil engineering design efforts on projects spanning water and wastewater treatment, water and wastewater networks, storm water overflows, and urban drainage. Working closely with project design leads, you will ensure successful delivery and outcomes for clients while mentoring and leading engineers within the project and wider civil engineering teams. This role offers the chance to engage with contractor partners on major Design and Build projects and to leverage Stantec’s world-class expertise to deliver innovative, sustainable infrastructure solutions that reduce environmental impacts and improve social outcomes. You will be part of a UK-wide team dedicated to sustainable development and infrastructure that adapts to and mitigates climate change effects, with a diverse pipeline covering all stages from asset planning and strategy through to detailed design.
Experience
Extensive design experience within the UK water industry, including successful project delivery and client-facing roles. Proven ability to lead client engagement and collaborate effectively with project teams to develop innovative solutions.

Passionate about the water and environment sector, with strong leadership and mentoring skills to support developing civil engineers. Collaborative, motivated, and committed to delivering high-quality, sustainable infrastructure projects.
Qualifications
Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a relevant subject. Ideally professionally qualified as a Chartered or Incorporated member of a relevant professional body such as ICE or CIWEM.
