About the Role
Join Stantec’s Water division during an exciting period of growth and opportunity. As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will lead the civil engineering design on major water projects, working alongside project design leads to ensure successful delivery and excellent outcomes for clients. You will take responsibility for mentoring and leading engineers within projects and support the leadership of the wider civil engineering team. Our projects span water and wastewater treatment, networks, storm water overflows, and urban drainage, covering the full project lifecycle from asset planning and strategy through to detailed design. You will have access to Stantec’s world-class expertise and collaborate with contractor partners on major Design and Build projects. This role offers the chance to work on some of the largest and most iconic water projects in the UK, with a focus on sustainable development, reducing environmental impacts, and improving social outcomes.

Experience
Extensive design experience within the UK water industry is essential. Proven track record of successful project delivery and collaborative working within multidisciplinary teams. Experience in client-facing roles, leading client engagement and collaboration regularly.
About you
Passionate about the water and environment sector with a strong commitment to supporting and developing civil engineers. Excellent leadership and mentoring skills. Ability to work collaboratively and innovatively to develop solutions that meet client and community needs.
Qualifications
Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a relevant subject. Ideally professionally qualified as a Chartered or Incorporated member of a relevant professional body such as ICE or CIWEM.
