We are seeking an experienced Principal Environmental Consultant with a strong technical background in the water sector and the ability to manage projects throughout their lifecycle. This role focuses on water and environmental solutions alongside a wider array of consultancy services, requiring leadership in technically complex projects and client engagement.
Experience
- Significant professional consultancy experience in the water sector and related environmental disciplines.
- Expertise in water quality (marine and freshwater), surface water management, hydro-ecology, environmental discharge permitting, pollutant assessment, and remediation techniques.
- Competence in applying detailed knowledge of water quality chemistry and understanding links between water quality and aquatic ecology.
- Experience engaging with UK environmental regulators.
- Strong project and programme management skills, including managing large, technically complex water environmental projects.
- Proven ability to manage proposals and secure sizeable work.
- People management experience with mentoring and staff development.
- Excellent organisational, communication, presentation, and multi-stakeholder management skills.
- Client-facing with a proactive approach to developing new work and service offerings.

Qualifications
- An environmentally related degree, ideally complemented by a postgraduate qualification.
- A clean full UK driving licence.
