About the Role
Join AECOM’s dynamic Water team as a Principal Flood Modeller and play a key role in delivering high-profile flood risk projects across the UK and beyond. Your work will involve developing and checking hydraulic models using industry-standard software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, Mike 11, Mike 21, HEC-RAS, and ICM to support Flood Alleviation Schemes, Flood Risk Assessments, and reservoir flood studies. You will also develop water quality models using tools like MIKE, Delft3D, SIMCAT, and ICM, and undertake hydrological assessments using Flood Estimation Handbook, ReFH2, and WINFAP methodologies.

In this role, you will lead tender submissions for projects ranging from innovative one-off assignments to multimillion-pound frameworks, mentor team members to support their professional growth, and build strong client relationships. Staying current with legislation and guidelines, you will ensure delivery of high-quality outputs within agreed programmes and budgets. Collaborate closely with engineers and technical specialists to deliver fluvial, coastal, surface water, and drainage flood risk management projects. AECOM offers a supportive and inclusive environment with flexible hybrid working, career development opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being and future growth.
