About the Role
Join Forestry England, a passionate team dedicated to growing the nation’s forests for everyone and making a positive difference for people and the environment. As a Project Manager, you will deliver a wide range of projects that improve forests, estates, and visitor facilities across the East of England. Covering approximately 35,000 hectares from Norfolk to the Sussex coast and west to Buckinghamshire, you will manage a diverse portfolio of environmental projects supporting Forestry England's Growing the Future ambitions.

You will lead projects from initial concept through to completion, collaborating with colleagues, specialist advisers, contractors, and external partners to ensure successful outcomes. Your responsibilities include developing project plans, managing budgets, monitoring risks, reporting progress, and helping develop business cases and investment proposals that secure value for money.

Projects may include replacing and improving operational facilities such as game larders for sustainable deer management, delivering estate and infrastructure improvements, enhancing visitor facilities to improve access and customer experience, and supporting Forestry England's Net Zero ambitions through renewable energy, low carbon infrastructure, and emission reduction initiatives.

Success in this role depends on your ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, bringing together different perspectives to deliver practical, lasting improvements across forests and estates.
