About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. As a Project Manager, you will manage projects to achieve agreed outcomes on time, within budget, and to quality standards. You will provide day-to-day leadership, aligning multidisciplinary teams to deliver objectives and KPIs while managing risks, change processes, and internal fee targets. This role involves collaboration and excellence throughout project delivery.

Mace has a significant track record in the education sector, working with schools, colleges, local authorities, and central government to deliver sustainable, flexible, and future-ready ‘landmarks for learning’ nationally. As the leading consultant for the Department for Education (DfE), Mace delivers projects across principal capital programmes including the Schools Re-building Programme (SRP), free schools, special educational needs, and further education colleges.

In this client-facing role, you will act as a lead technical advisor/project manager, leading high-performing teams on a wide portfolio of work including new build, refurbishment, remodelling, and carbon reduction schemes. Mace’s integrated in-house services—covering design, cost, information management, sustainability, and health and safety—offer clients a seamless end-to-end service with a single point of accountability.

Your responsibilities will include applying technical expertise in health and safety regulations, fostering inclusivity and team wellbeing, ensuring robust quality systems, managing project delivery from inception to completion, overseeing budgets and risks, coordinating design and stakeholders collaboratively, maintaining accurate documentation, driving innovation and best practice, and upholding Mace’s values to support sustainable business outcomes.
