About the Role
This is a high profile Project Manager role working on significant water infrastructure projects within Thames Water. You will build on your Project Management experience and work as part of a team to help secure the future of the water supply for London. The role offers exposure to new and exciting water treatment techniques and involvement in an iconic initiative.
- Establish and continuously promote a proactive health, safety & environment culture across complex and high-risk project portfolios and service providers.
- Develop and deliver optimized projects to achieve all regulatory, statutory, and internal outputs, deadlines, and targets.
- Maintain accountability throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring governance compliance and effective stakeholder engagement for smooth transition of project outcomes into operational business.
- Actively protect, manage, and enhance Thames Water’s reputation with external customers and stakeholders.
- Drive development of project briefs, including supplementary information for early contractor involvement phases.
- Support the development and definition of tender packages, defining scope of work to assist the Procurement team through each tender stage, meeting demanding timescales.
- Manage and assure contractor performance to deliver project outcomes on time, within cost, and to quality standards.

Requirements

Experience
- Educated to HNC/degree level or equivalent with further or outstanding role-specific experience in operational or project management.
- Proven experience managing, leading, and developing people in a culture of accountability and achievement.
- Excellent contractual awareness of Project Management work.
- Track record of managing the performance of third-party organizations.
- Ability to set up and implement feedback systems to improve business performance.
- Skilled in delivering tough messages with empathy.
- Previous water or utilities experience is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications
HNC or degree level education in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in project or operational management.
