About the Role
Join a fantastic team at RSPB Pulborough Brooks, one of Sussex's most important nature sites and a leading RSPB visitor destination. The site offers a vibrant programme of events alongside a welcoming visitor centre, with the shop and café overlooking beautiful views of the South Downs. As Retail Manager, you will lead the retail team to deliver excellent customer experiences and maximise income in the shop. You will work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager, Senior Site Manager, and wider team, actively contributing to decisions affecting the whole site. Leading by example, you will inspire your team and ensure every customer understands the impact their contribution makes towards the RSPB’s mission to protect nature.

Experience
- Using financial data such as sales, margin, and stock to inform decisions
- Managing stock including ordering, deliveries, and stock control
- Creating effective retail displays and merchandising to drive sales
- Running day-to-day retail operations including processes, compliance, and standards
- Leading a team to achieve sales targets and deliver strong performance
- Planning rotas and allocating resources effectively to meet demand and maximise sales
- Delivering excellent customer service and using feedback to improve performance
- Identifying issues and taking practical steps to resolve them quickly and effectively
- Working knowledge of MS applications including Excel and Word

Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience working within a visitor attraction or charity environment
