About the Role
As the UK’s largest water company, Thames Water is investing heavily to upgrade assets and build a more resilient water future. Our sampling teams play a crucial role in supporting Major Projects and Programmes that improve services for millions of customers and deliver essential environmental benefits across our region. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact with purpose.

As a Sampling Quality Technician, you will be on the move daily, travelling between wastewater treatment sites and working independently while being part of a wider team covering a large geographical area. You will collect water samples from both crude and treated sewage sites, coordinate with internal teams to arrange site access and sampling schedules, and build strong working relationships to ensure smooth delivery of services.

You will be responsible for achieving SLA and KPI targets, contributing to the overall performance and reliability of the sampling function. Managing sampling records and maintaining sampling equipment in line with industry standards will also be key parts of your role.

Use of a company van for business purposes is provided. This is a unique opportunity to join a company committed to building a better future for customers, communities, people, and the planet.

Experience
Experience in water or wastewater sampling is desirable but not essential. Experience working in a regulated environment such as ISO17025, DWI, or EA standards is also desirable.

A clean full manual driving licence is essential. You will have strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes, drive safely, maintain a van, and work independently. Good computer literacy and attention to detail are important, along with the ability to follow technical procedures.
