About the Role
Affinity Water has an exciting opportunity within our Scientific Services Sampling Team based in Staines. Our Water Quality and Scientific Services teams are essential in ensuring we meet regulatory commitments and maintain 100% compliance with Water Quality Sampling Regulations. Through regular and investigative sampling, we safeguard water quality and uphold customer confidence.

As a Sampling Technician, you will play a key role in protecting water quality for our customers and communities. This role offers a balance of technical fieldwork and office-based coordination, providing variety and opportunities to develop a broad skill set.

In the field, you will carry out routine and non-routine sampling activities at Affinity Water sites and customer premises, often working independently while following strict quality control procedures to collect water samples that meet the highest standards, including compliance with UKAS (DWTS) requirements. Your work is central to ensuring water safety and quality across our supply network.

When office-based, you will support the planning and organisation of sampling operations, including preparing collection schedules for compliance, operational, and ad-hoc samples, managing customer queries about water quality, arranging and attending customer appointments, planning sampling rotas, rescheduling work as needed, and supporting AQC activities.

You will receive full training from a Sampling Team Leader and participate in company-led training and development, including safety-critical courses such as Health & Safety, COSHH, and Manual Handling, equipping you with the confidence and technical knowledge to perform your duties safely and effectively.
