£33,200 to £44,000 per annum, depending on experience and skills

About the Role
Join Thames Water's Protective Security Team and play a key role in protecting our people, sites, and critical assets. As a Security Control Centre (SCC) Operative, you will work at the heart of our Security Control Centre, monitoring the security of our estate and ensuring physical security measures remain effective 24/7. Using a range of security technology including CCTV, intruder detection, and electronic access control systems, you will identify potential threats and support an effective security response.

Your responsibilities will include monitoring alarms and CCTV according to set procedures, triaging incident reports to initiate correct responses, providing security incident support during system outages, and activating disaster recovery plans as required. You will manage the SCC working environment, support system health checks, data and subject access requests, and coordinate with third-party contractors to maintain SCC functionality.

You will also contribute to continuous improvement activities, support security-related projects such as SCC upgrades, and have the opportunity to step up and support the Supervisor when needed. The role requires UK National Security Vetting (NSV) Counter Terrorism Check (SC) clearance prior to starting. Candidates must either hold active CTC clearance or be willing and eligible to undergo the vetting process, typically requiring continuous UK residency for the last 5 years and a valid passport.

Experience
Operational experience in a similar Security Control Centre (SCC), Alarm Monitoring Centre (AMC), Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC), or Security Operations Centre (SOC) role.
Knowledge and experience using security systems such as CCTV, alarms, and access control to monitor and respond to incidents.
Thorough understanding and application of monitoring, response, emergency, and escalation procedures.

Qualifications
