About the Role
As a Security Officer with ISS Facility Services, you will proactively perform security duties to prevent and deter risks to our client and its employees. You will foster a healthy and safe culture, report all near-miss health and safety incidents, and ensure best practices are followed.

Your responsibilities include collaborating with the integrated team to deliver excellent experiences for staff and visitors, monitoring front-of-house entrances and reception areas to identify unusual behaviour or items, and responding professionally to all approaches and inquiries. You will serve as a Brand Ambassador for ISS, upholding high customer service standards and identifying and reporting concerning or atypical behaviour while implementing appropriate interventions per policy.

You will respond calmly to challenging situations, prioritizing safety and clear communication, patrol high-risk areas, and react promptly to incidents to minimise risk and severity. Demonstrating outstanding customer service and client focus, you will work collaboratively across the business to deliver integrated, intelligent solutions and ensure compliance with recycling and sustainability initiatives.

Additional duties include acting as a first responder to First Aid requests, supporting the Front of House team during peak periods, maintaining accurate records, escorting contractors, staff, and visitors to maintain site integrity and security, and professionally managing unauthorized access attempts.

You will control and monitor access to the site, buildings, and restricted areas, conduct regular patrols to deter unauthorized activity, check doors, alarms, fire exits, plant rooms, and sensitive areas for security and compliance, and report defects, hazards, or vulnerabilities promptly.

Responding effectively to security incidents, emergencies, and safety concerns, you will provide a welcoming yet security-focused front-of-house presence, communicate clearly and respectfully with all stakeholders, and follow all site-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Assignment Instructions (AIs), and post orders.

Escalate incidents, risks, or breaches according to escalation protocols and liaise with control rooms, supervisors, emergency services, and client representatives as required. You will wear the issued uniform and identification, maintaining a professional appearance, and contribute to continuous improvement by reporting concerns, near misses, and procedural gaps.
