About the Role
I’m working on behalf of a well-established, employee-owned engineering and environmental consultancy to support the continued growth of their air quality capability. With a strong forward workload and a collaborative ownership culture that genuinely rewards contribution, they are now looking to appoint a Senior Air Quality Consultant to play a key role within the team.
My client is a highly regarded, independent consultancy operating across the built environment, infrastructure and sustainability sectors. As an employee-owned firm, the business places a strong emphasis on collaboration, long-term thinking and shared success rather than short-term targets.
Their project portfolio includes major residential and mixed-use developments, strategic land and regeneration schemes, commercial and industrial projects, infrastructure and transport-led developments, and planning-led and EIA-scale assessments.
As a Senior Air Quality Consultant, you will take a leading role in shaping and delivering the air quality service with responsibilities spanning technical, commercial, leadership and management areas. This includes leading and reviewing air quality assessments for planning and EIA projects, managing complex dispersion modelling and technical outputs, supporting and leading fee proposals and bids, managing project finances, building trusted client relationships, line management, mentoring junior and mid-level consultants, overseeing workload planning, quality assurance and technical standards, and contributing to the strategic growth of the air quality discipline.
The role offers clear progression pathways to senior leadership and director level, high-quality varied project exposure across multiple sectors, and a supportive, technically strong and people-focused culture.
Experience
Strong consultancy background in air quality with proven experience delivering and reviewing complex projects. Comfortable balancing technical delivery with commercial responsibility. Experience managing or mentoring staff or readiness to step into this level.
About you
Confident communicator with clients and multidisciplinary teams. Able to lead technically and commercially while fostering long-term client relationships. Motivated to contribute to a collaborative, employee-owned culture focused on shared success and long-term stability.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in environmental science, air quality, or related disciplines are expected. Specific qualifications were not detailed but a strong technical background is essential.
