About the Role
My client, a market-leading Civil and Environmental Engineering Consultancy based in the heart of Swindon, is seeking a Graduate Flood Risk Consultant or Engineer to join their team. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to work alongside an experienced team delivering flood risk and drainage projects for public and private sector clients and housing developers across the region. With sustainability and environmental considerations central to all designs, you will receive training to develop design solutions for residential and renewable energy projects. Additionally, you will gain exposure to transport planning projects for residential schemes.
The role includes training and support to complete:
- Flood Risk Assessments
- Surface water and foul water drainage strategies
- Hydraulic modelling and AutoCAD drafting
- Drainage outlines to support planning applications
- Client engagement and liaison
- SuDS design (sustainable drainage systems)
- Nutrient neutrality assessments and solutions
- Sustainability assessments
You will also have the opportunity to explore various sectors including transport planning if required. The role is office-based in Swindon and offers a supportive environment to develop your skills and career in flood risk consultancy.
Experience
Strong academic background in Environmental Sustainability, Hydrology, Geography or Environmental Management. Module experience in flood risk assessments, drainage strategies and/or GIS mapping is required. Experience working for a consultancy or local authority is preferred.

Qualifications
A relevant degree in Environmental Sustainability, Hydrology, Geography, Environmental Management or related discipline. Strong academic performance is essential.
