About the Role
Ricardo Energy & Environment, a member of WSP, is a global strategic, environmental, and engineering consulting company with over 100 years of engineering excellence. We employ close to 3,000 people across more than 20 countries, delivering innovative and sustainable solutions to complex challenges. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Climate Economics Modeller to join our Economic Analysis team. The successful candidate will support the development and application of the GEM-E3 model, conducting climate risk assessments and policy impact assessments for EU and non-EU clients. Core responsibilities include economic modelling, data analysis, and research to evaluate macroeconomic, distributional, and regional implications of climate and energy policies (transition risk) and climate impacts (physical risk). Additional focus areas include competitiveness, investment strategies, and trade dynamics.

Key responsibilities include developing and applying economic models such as CGE models like GEM-E3, collecting and analysing large datasets related to energy, economy, and transport, reviewing scientific and market reports to support quantitative assessments, and developing modelling tools using GAMS, Python, and/or R. The role also involves supporting EU-funded research projects, contributing to climate policy and IPCC-related work, developing policy recommendations and briefs, managing multiple projects efficiently, and collaborating with team members to deliver high-quality research.
