About the Role
Join AECOM’s dynamic Nature team as a Senior Ecologist and help shape the future of the environment. You will work on a diverse portfolio of ecology programs and projects across sectors including power and renewables, infrastructure, environment, and transport. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams such as landscape, GIS, engineering, sustainability, and drainage to deliver innovative and impactful ecological consultancy services.
Your responsibilities will include supporting the preparation of high-quality and commercially astute bids and tenders, planning and organising all phases of ecological project work, and ensuring resources and budgets meet programme requirements. You will deliver expert ecological consultancy and advisory services, develop pragmatic solutions to complex ecological issues, and contribute to ecology chapters for environmental statements and protected species licence applications. Additionally, you will author or technically review project deliverables to ensure excellence.

Experience
Demonstrable experience in planning and delivery of ecological services on projects in the UK or Ireland; excellent field skills in at least one specialist area including any protected species licences; mentoring and supporting ecology team members.

Qualifications
Membership of an appropriate professional institution (such as CIEEM) and evidence of working towards Chartership; well-developed understanding of relevant wildlife conservation legislation and best practice.
