
Location
Hybrid role based at either Hampton Coal Wharf, TW12 2ES; Beckton STW, IG11 0AD; or Clear Water Court, RG1 8DB. Attendance at office and sites as required.

Up to £70,000 per annum, depending on experience.
About the Role
Join Thames Water as a Senior Electrical Authorising Engineer and play a key role in shaping the future of electrical safety within the organisation. You will support the Principal Electrical Authorising Engineer in promoting electrical safety awareness and fostering a strong safety culture. Your responsibilities will include acting as the Company Electrical Authorising Engineer by assessing, appointing, and auditing personnel undertaking electrical work, including periodic audits of high voltage installations. You will review and update Electrical Safety Rules and Approved Procedures, lead investigations into electrical safety incidents, and implement actions to prevent recurrence. Additionally, you will apply industry-wide electrical safety learnings to update and improve Technical Asset Standards, delivering innovative electrical solutions that prioritise safety and compliance.

Experience
- Extensive electrical safety experience in both high- and low-voltage systems, preferably within the water industry.
- Strong background in electrical assessment and authorisation processes.
- Previous experience as a Senior Authorised Person on complex high voltage systems.
- Proven competence in incident investigation, including root cause analysis and development of targeted improvement plans.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering design and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to assess regulatory changes and their impact on the organisation.

Qualifications
- Degree level qualification or equivalent.
- Professional chartership likely in an engineering discipline.
