About the Role
Are you passionate about improving the environmental performance of infrastructure development projects and helping the UK deliver its net zero commitments? Join AECOM’s established Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) team, comprising over 165 experts across the UK and Ireland. As a Senior Environmental Consultant, you will coordinate environmental inputs to EIA screening and scoping reports, Environmental Statements, and supporting documents, including technical review of specialist chapters. You will be involved across all project life stages from early strategy and site identification through feasibility, design, construction, and operation phases. This role offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of large-scale development projects including energy generation (carbon capture, hydrogen, renewables), energy distribution, carbon capture pipelines, rail projects, highway improvements, regeneration, and developments across ecommerce, minerals, waste, water, defence, aviation, commercial, residential, and industrial sectors.
You will ensure the highest quality standards in deliverables, develop project management skills by coordinating resources and budgets, collaborate with integrated design teams to improve environmental outcomes, and maintain direct client contact. Additionally, you will support business development activities and promote AECOM’s environmental services internally and externally. Experience
- Proven EIA consultancy experience including coordination of environmental reports and technical review of specialist chapters
- Familiarity with multiple consenting regimes (DCO, TCPA, TWA, hybrid Bill) is advantageous
- Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Developing project management skills including programming and budget management

Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant environmental discipline (preferably a Masters degree)
