About the Role
As a Senior Geo-environmental Consultant at Tetra Tech, you will shape ground risk strategies behind complex, high-value projects influencing how places are planned, designed, and delivered. You will play a key role within the Ground Risk and Remediation team, supporting a broad portfolio of medium and large-scale projects across renewable energy, transport, property, residential, and water sectors. Your responsibilities will include delivering geo-environmental work from desk studies, fieldwork, feasibility studies, and risk assessments through to planning, design, and construction phases. This role requires a combination of field experience, technical diligence, project management, and client engagement skills.
You will manage projects and budgets ranging from a few thousand to several hundred thousand pounds, support senior staff, and provide practical, risk-based assessments of contaminated land and controlled waters, remediation, and ground investigation. You will be part of a collaborative, high-performing team with opportunities to mentor junior staff.
In the short term, you will take ownership of live projects ensuring delivery, cost control, and quality. In the medium term, you will help grow repeat business, broaden exposure to major multidisciplinary work, and take a stronger role in shaping technical delivery. Long term, this role offers clear progression towards becoming a trusted technical leader with expanding influence across the business.

Experience
- Demonstrable experience in UK geology, contaminated land assessment, land quality assessment, site investigation, chemical testing, and remediation strategy development.
- Proven ability to provide robust technical advice and produce clear, defensible outputs for clients and regulators.
- Experience in engineering geology and geohazard assessment is advantageous.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage delivery, budgets, and programmes while balancing technical quality and commercial awareness.
- Experience supervising sub-consultants and sub-contractors to ensure efficient and accurate data acquisition.
- Skilled in preparing and reviewing technical reports including contaminated land and controlled water risk assessments and remediation strategies.
- Ability to act as a credible point of contact for clients, contractors, regulators, and internal colleagues, building confidence through clear communication and responsive delivery.
- Experience mentoring and developing junior colleagues, contributing to proposals, repeat business, and team growth.

Qualifications
- Chartered or working towards chartership with a relevant professional body.
