About the Role
Ready to shape the future of water infrastructure for one of the world’s greatest cities? As a Senior Project Manager with Thames Water, you will lead a complex £100M+ project and join a legacy of dedicated professionals delivering essential services to millions of Londoners. You will be part of Thames Water’s Major Projects & Programmes Team at a pivotal moment in the mission to future-proof London’s water supply.
You will lead a cross-functional project team and partner with our Tier 1 contractor to successfully deliver major infrastructure improvements at the Coppermills Water Treatment Works. This flagship initiative involves intricate engineering, demanding stakeholder management, and the opportunity to drive outcomes that matter on a national scale.
Key responsibilities include leading the delivery of a highly complex, multi-year project on a 24/7 live operational site, building strong relationships within Thames Water and with delivery partners and stakeholders, owning project governance, contract management and reporting, collaborating to deliver project outcomes in terms of time, cost and quality, strategically guiding the team to anticipate and navigate delivery challenges, championing continuous improvement, mentoring emerging talent, and leading with integrity and influence for the benefit of the project, the wider business, and the sector.

Experience
- Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects (circa £100M) from inception to handover.
- Strong working knowledge of relevant UK regulations and contracts such as NEC and IChemE.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and perform well under pressure.
- Resilience and determination to work collaboratively to achieve the best project outcomes.
- Must have access to a car and a valid driving licence.

About you
You are a confident and experienced project manager with a degree in engineering, project management, or a related discipline. You thrive in complex environments, enjoy leading diverse teams, and have a passion for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects that make a real difference. You are proactive, strategic, and committed to continuous improvement and mentoring others.
Relevant water sector experience is desirable but not essential.

- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline such as engineering or project management.
