About the Role
Shape the future of water with AECOM by leading advanced wastewater modelling that drives sustainable infrastructure and lasting environmental impact. Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Senior Wastewater Modeller in our rapidly growing Edinburgh office while benefiting from flexible hybrid working. You will be a key technical lead supporting junior team members to deliver top-quality projects across a portfolio of water programmes and projects, including long-term partnerships with contractors, charities, and water companies. AECOM has recently been named preferred bidder for Scottish Water’s SR27 Enterprise, a transformational multi-billion-pound programme reshaping Scotland’s water and wastewater infrastructure from 2027 to 2033, with potential extension. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading delivery of outputs from small to medium modelling projects
- Delegating tasks effectively to meet project deadlines
- Mentoring junior staff
- Conducting Health & Safety Risk Assessments
- Coordinating field teams
- Model building and verification
- Optioneering design solutions
- Producing reports and technical documents
- Progress reporting and client liaison
- Project management and business development client liaison

Experience
- Proficient in using Infoworks ICM
- Ability to work within financial and programme constraints
- Developing technical specifications and scopes of work
- Technical review of projects, design input, optioneering, and proposal preparation
- Leading teams of project engineers and technicians
- Liaising with government departments, local authorities, water and utility companies, SEPA, and other public bodies
- Proven track record in developing client relationships and securing repeat business
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

Qualifications
- Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent) or proven track record delivering modelling projects
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead technical teams
