£35,000 - £45,000 per year, plus overtime paid at time and a half, on-call allowance

About the Role
Universal Business Team is seeking a Service Engineer to join a rapidly growing, family-run SME operating within the water industry. Based at the company headquarters in Gloucester, you will be part of a vibrant team delivering exceptional customer service through expert product and technical knowledge. Your responsibilities will include installing, commissioning, servicing, and repairing pumps, pump systems, and other mechanical equipment. You will conduct scheduled site visits, provide detailed reports and recommendations, and attend emergency call-outs to perform necessary repairs. Maintaining safety is paramount, including producing robust risk assessments and method statements. You will perform routine preventative maintenance on wastewater systems, identify and address faults, and communicate progress effectively with schedulers. Maintaining professionalism, vehicle cleanliness, stock levels, and adherence to company policies are also key aspects of the role. A company van, tools, and mobile phone will be provided to support your work.

Experience
Technical knowledge of water boosting technology and packaged pump stations. Experience in the pump industry or construction-related roles.

Self-motivated with a "can do" attitude and a high standard of workmanship. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and email). Beneficial IT skills.

Qualifications
Confined Space Entry Qualification. Current CSCS qualification. Some electrical training. Emergency First Aid at Work Qualification. Clean driving license.
