About the Role

As a Shift Team Leader at Veolia, you will be driving innovative solutions to create a more sustainable future for all. You will support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the power station, including high-pressure boilers, steam turbine/generator systems, and associated plant.

You will operate at Senior Authorised Person (SAP) level, or work towards SAP status, supporting the safe control of work across the site. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and controlling plant operation from the central control room using the Distributed Control System (DCS), managing permit-to-work processes and safe systems of work, and coordinating work planning and scheduling with Engineering and Operations teams.

Additional duties include identifying plant defects and managing work orders through the CMMS/EAM system, supporting compliance with environmental permits, ensuring adherence to site safety rules and health and safety legislation, coordinating planned works with internal teams and contractors, operating site plant and equipment, managing consumable stock levels, and promoting a positive safety culture through hazard observations and behavioural safety monitoring.

Experience
Relevant experience or qualifications within power generation or a similar industrial/process environment. Proven knowledge of power station plant including boilers, steam systems, turbines, and generators. Experience in control room operations and using Distributed Control Systems (DCS). Familiarity with boiler water treatment, steam-cycle chemistry, and associated plant processes.

About you
Strong working knowledge of health and safety legislation including PUWER, LOLER, and CDM Regulations. Familiarity with power industry safety rules and electrical safety procedures. Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with internal teams, contractors, and external parties. Commitment to promoting and maintaining a positive safety culture. Willingness to work towards SAP accreditation if not already achieved.

Qualifications
NEBOSH General Certificate and/or IOSH Managing Safely. Legionella awareness. City & Guilds Medium Risk Confined Space qualification or equivalent. SAP status or experience as an Authorised Person with willingness to work towards SAP accreditation.
