About the Role
Join Veolia and contribute to our ambition of Ecological Transformation by supporting sustainable waste management at the AstraZeneca Discovery Centre. You will assist the Site Manager in implementing hazardous waste operations, managing chemical waste processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal documentation requirements. Your role includes liaising with laboratory facility suppliers and disposal facilities to guarantee safe and efficient waste handling and removal. You will also manage hazardous waste storage areas and support daily waste management operations including collection, accumulation, treatment, packaging, and dispatch of waste materials. This position offers the opportunity to work within a dedicated team focused on environmental stewardship and community engagement.

Experience
Knowledge and/or experience of hazardous waste management, COSHH, and health and safety procedures is desirable. Experience working in a laboratory or chemical environment is advantageous.

Enthusiastic and willing to learn
Ability to work independently and solve problems
Numerate, literate, and computer literate
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Good communication skills with the ability to build rapport with customers
Holds a valid driving licence and comfortable driving a 3.5t van, as some roles may be mobile

Qualifications
Ideally HNC or Degree qualification in Chemistry or a relevant science degree, or A-Level in Chemistry
