About the Role
Join AECOM’s thriving Highways & Complete Streets team within the Transportation Business Line as a Technical / Regional Director. This role offers the opportunity to lead a growing team focused on Active Travel, Bus Priority, Highway Improvement, and Infrastructure schemes. You will be involved in concept, preliminary and detailed designs, community engagement, project delivery, and construction management across a wide range of multi-disciplinary transportation and urban realm projects. The team supports other AECOM business lines where projects have specialised traffic and highways interfaces.
As a Technical / Regional Director, you will provide leadership in team management, business development, client relationship building, and project delivery. You will represent AECOM as the key client contact, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with standards, regulations, and client expectations. This role suits a self-motivated, independent leader eager to leverage the latest technologies and advance their career within a dynamic, market-leading transportation team.
While benefiting from AECOM’s flexible hybrid working model, you will typically work from the office 2-3 days per week, collaborating closely with your team and other internal business lines including Transport Planning, Structures, Infrastructure, Water, Power, and Landscape.
Experience
Proven experience in team leadership, business development, client management, project management, and project delivery within highways and transportation sectors. Demonstrable experience in a senior or leading role, ideally within Active Travel, Bus Priority, or Highway Improvement projects.

Qualifications
A relevant degree and Chartered status with a recognised professional institution or equivalent industry experience.
