Hours
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am – 3:36 pm. Standby and overtime opportunities available, increasing earnings by a potential £8,000 - £10,000 upon completion of essential company training.

Salary
Up to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Additional standby rota payments and overtime can increase earning potential by up to £8,000 - £10,000 per annum after training completion.

About the Role
We are recruiting a Mechanical & Electrical Technician to join our Wastewater Division. You will use your mechanical and electrical knowledge and experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment safely, efficiently, and with minimum supervision. Your work ensures all sites remain operational, benefiting our customers and helping reduce pollution from our sites.
- Carry out scheduled planned maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment in compliance with company procedures to minimise plant breakdowns.
- Investigate plant failures and carry out repairs quickly and efficiently to avoid process interruptions, including diagnosing complex faults and repairing during incidents.
- Provide technical advice, refer to up-to-date technical knowledge, and support or train technical trainees as required.
- Work on equipment such as pumps and associated control gear, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems including VSDs, automatic valves and penstocks, flow, level and pressure measurement devices, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and controls, and chemical handling and dosing equipment.
- Participate in a standby rota following relevant training.
All PPE and tools are provided.

Experience
- Time-served electrical apprentice with significant experience working in a true multi-skilled capacity.
- Ideally upskilled with a mechanical qualification (NVQ2/3) to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical and electrical plant equipment.
- Candidates with mechanical or electrical experience only will be considered for development to dual-skilled status.
- Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are essential.
- Physical fitness required to work in confined spaces, with successful completion of appropriate training.
- Valid driving licence is essential; all necessary equipment including vehicle and tools are provided.

Qualifications
- Electrical apprenticeship, ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ, or C&G Level 3 in Electrical Engineering.
- Mechanical NVQ2/3 qualification or willingness to upskill mechanically is crucial.
