Didcot Regional Distribution Centre, Oxfordshire. Travel required across operational sites.

Hours
Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.

Salary
£40,000 to £43,000 per annum, depending on experience and skills.

About the Role
Thames Water is recruiting a Waste and Sustainability Coordinator within the Environmental Compliance Team, part of the Renewals and Logistics area. The role focuses on reducing waste by encouraging re-use and promoting sustainability through the internal free cycle operation, Greentag, while ensuring compliance with waste regulations. Key responsibilities include day-to-day management of material and equipment re-use via the intranet-based system ‘Greentag’, ensuring compliance with Waste Duty of Care, providing advice on waste management, problem solving and innovation, supporting the Environmental Compliance Lead as a subject matter expert for waste, ensuring Health & Safety requirements are met, and recording and reporting waste data. Internally, this role is known as Environmental Waste Resource Technician.

Requirements

Experience
- Knowledge of UK waste legislation and policy.
- Collaborative skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills, able to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Hold a valid and clean UK driving licence.

About you
Proactive and innovative with strong problem-solving skills. Committed to sustainability and environmental compliance. Able to communicate effectively and provide expert advice on waste management.

Qualifications
- Desirable: Experience undertaking audits (waste duty of care) and site inspections.
- Desirable: Experience delivering training.
- Desirable: Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related subject.
- Desirable: Chartered status with relevant professional body (e.g. CIWM, SocEnv, CIWEM).
