About the Role
Lead major digital transformation programmes delivering data-driven change that improves resilience, efficiency, and customer impact across the UK’s largest water company. This role offers end-to-end ownership of large-scale digital transformation initiatives, with exposure to senior stakeholders, budgets up to £10 million, and responsibility for governance, delivery, and team leadership. You will combine strong commercial acumen, delivery expertise, and strategic influence to drive successful outcomes.
Key responsibilities include defining and baselining the programme’s scope, plan, and budget to deliver business outcomes; identifying and managing stakeholders up to Executive Director level; managing RAID items and escalating as appropriate; attending project initiation workshops and creating associated materials; forecasting resource needs including internal and external partners; supporting commercial and procurement activities including RFI/RFQ processes and contract negotiations; managing supplier performance through monthly reporting of time, cost, and quality metrics; and actively supporting improvements in Digital processes and ways of working. This includes transitioning to Product Management methodologies, defining delivery process efficiencies, and developing Digital skills and capabilities within delivery teams to meet future business and technology needs.

Experience
- Extensive experience in Digital/IT programme management delivery roles
- Financial management experience with budgets up to £10 million per annum
- Experience with Agile and/or Product Management delivery methodologies
- Line management experience of up to 10 direct reports
- Supplier management across the entire delivery lifecycle
- Customer-centric delivery experience

- Motivated to drive continuous improvement in digital delivery processes and team capabilities
Qualifications
- PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent
- ITIL v3/v4 or equivalent (desirable)
- Water industry experience (desirable)
- Information Technology or similar qualification to Bachelor's degree or equivalent level (desirable)
- Certification/experience of SaaS and/or cloud-based application management (desirable)
- Experience with DevOps tools, processes, and methodology (desirable)
