About the Role

As Workshop Manager, you will lead a team of workshop technicians and support staff, promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring the delivery of key performance indicators including Risk and Assurance, Fleet Compliance, and Service Levels. You will manage contractors on site, oversee maintenance and servicing of equipment in line with statutory regulations such as LOLER and PUWER, and ensure high standards of quality and operational targets are met.
Your responsibilities will include conducting performance evaluations, identifying training needs, acting as the primary contact for key customers, resolving inquiries promptly, and supporting budget planning with technical information. You will monitor equipment reliability, carry out health and safety monitoring including VMR inspections, investigate equipment failures to determine root causes, and recommend cost-effective recovery plans. Additionally, you will manage work instructions and risk assessments, and support the team in maintenance planning and procurement.

Experience
- City & Guilds or HGV NVQ Level 3 in vehicle maintenance and repairs
- LGV Category C or C+E Vocational Licence Holder
- Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure
- IT skills and knowledge of MOT regulations

Essential:
- City & Guilds or HGV NVQ Level 3 vehicle maintenance and repairs
- LGV Category C or C+E Vocational Licence Holder
Desirable:
- Level 3 Leadership & Management or equivalent work experience
- Irtec Technician Licence Holder
- Forklift licence (Counterbalance)
- HGV Licence
- Welding/fabrication skills
- Plant/RCV experience
- Electrical knowledge
