Location
Banbury or Witney, with travel to other sites across the Cotswolds, Cherwell, and Oxford areas. A driving licence and car ownership are essential due to travel requirements.

Hours
36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with participation in an out-of-hours rota for escalations and advice as Thames Water operates 24/7.

Salary
£47,680 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Role
Thames Water is the UK’s largest water and wastewater company, serving 15 million customers daily. As an Area Services Manager, you will lead a team providing specialist technical support to Performance Managers across multiple sites, focusing on maintenance strategies to drive asset efficiencies, reduce failure rates, and improve site resilience. You will ensure compliance with statutory inspections and service levels, support site improvement projects, and manage risk escalation. Your role includes owning and optimising the maintenance delivery plan, monitoring plant performance, investigating critical failures, and driving cost reductions in maintenance serviceability.

Experience
Background in industrial mechanical/electrical maintenance including planned and preventative maintenance. Proven experience as a people manager with a history of engaging and developing teams. Experience as a technical mentor to apprentices is desirable. Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and application, with a broad range of H&S skills. Facilities background is desirable.

Qualifications
Minimum BTEC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical. BTEC HNC Electrical/Mechanical or ICA background preferred. NEBOSH qualification is ideal and will be required if not already held.
