Based in the New York metropolitan area, Amey’s US operations are central to its international growth ambitions, working closely with major transit authorities such as the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) to modernise rail and transport networks through digitised asset management and enhanced safety and resilience.
As a Principal Consultant within Amey Consulting’s Asset Management Transformation Team, you will lead efforts to improve clients’ infrastructure asset management capabilities by combining ISO 55001 best practices with technology, integrated systems, and organisational change. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of consultants, engineers, data and digital specialists, project managers, and commercial professionals to deliver innovative, data-led infrastructure solutions.
This role offers the opportunity to influence the direction of Amey’s consulting team, expand into new markets, establish quality standards, and create tailored asset management solutions that drive measurable outcomes for large organisations across regulated industries including Major Infrastructure, Highways, Rail, Aviation, Maritime, and Energy.
Experience
- Significant industry experience in major infrastructure and operations sectors such as rail, ports, property, aviation, highways, or energy.
- Proven expertise in diagnosing asset management challenges and communicating findings effectively.
- Experience planning, managing, and implementing asset management change programmes.
- Strong knowledge of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems such as HxGN EAM, IBM Maximo, IFS Cloud, or similar.
- Demonstrated project controls skills balancing financial and technical requirements.
- Proven leadership in managing medium to large teams and building strong client relationships.
- Business development experience with an extensive industry network and strong communication and negotiation skills.

Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- Chartered status in a relevant field or actively working towards it, with membership in a professional body related to Asset Management, Engineering, Operations, or Consultancy.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 55001, the IAM anatomy, and similar industry standards.
- Qualification in project management methodologies such as APM, PRINCE2, or AgilePM is desirable.
