About the Role
Amey is a leading provider of full life-cycle engineering, operations, and decarbonisation solutions for transport infrastructure and complex facilities. As a Technical Director in Transport Planning, you will play a pivotal role in leading the growth and development of our business across England, Wales, and Ireland. You will provide visionary leadership to a dynamic team, overseeing projects primarily for public sector clients through substantial frameworks such as the Midlands Highways Alliance, OneTrafford Partnership, and Department for Infrastructure (NI). Your remit will include managing complex transport planning projects, delivering innovative and sustainable solutions, and supporting business development efforts. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to shape the future of transportation infrastructure, including international projects in Australia and the Bahamas. This role offers the opportunity to influence strategic direction, mentor team members, and raise the profile of Amey Transport Planning within the industry.
Experience
Minimum 15 years post-graduate experience in transport planning, ideally within a large consultancy environment. Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex projects for public sector clients. Demonstrable ability to manage client relationships and contribute to business development. Experience in Development Planning, Transport Modelling, Business Cases, and Active Travel is essential.
